An expert report was prepared by Jamie Brätt, AICP, LEED AP, dated April 2, 2017, focused primarily on whether the application at hand for the Dog Park on the Moore Property is harmonious with the town’s Plan of Conservation & Development, and whether it helps bring about stated goals within the plan.
Based on review of documents in the public record, there is insufficient information for the
Planning & Zoning Commission to opine whether the proposed dog park on the Moore property is consistent with the Town of Weston Plan of Conservation and Development, particularly with regard to the stated goals of tree preservation. Furthermore, the proposed plan lacks adequate parking and circulation to ensure public safety and welfare. It is not evident from the public record that alternate sites have been evaluated; sites that may provide better accessibility at lower expense and impact to natural resources.
